This will be a new thing for me to do, "blogging". I have retired from police work after nearly 22 years so I would like to share some insight about work, parenting and just life experiences. With this new adventure I hope to brighten your day, give you some comic relief and maybe share my wisdom! Let's get started with "My New Thing To Do".

Update on Fence
We got there this morning and went right to work. While Scott was gone to the store getting the supplies I mowed the backyard. After mowing I then found the weed eater and cleaned up around the fence and house. Looked pretty good if I do say so myself. I got the shovel out and scrapped the grass and dirt from the little make shift patio (flat cement pavers so grass and junk grows between them.). The tree limbs are all over the ground from the HUGE pecan tree in the neighbors yard so I raked them and mended fence that was patched. All the while the wind was blowing about 30 mph, NO BUGS....just dirt blowing right back in my face. No matter which way I mowed, or scraped or raked, it all blew right back into my face. I picked up trash, the dog loves to tear stuff up and it stays in the yard forever, so I picked that up and threw it away. I WAS NOT IN A GOOD MOOD. I did it because I love her, but I was also angry so I might have played a little martyr here. She is such a lucky kid. She is 24 and has her own house. Of course she has her own house payment too, and all the stuff that goes with it. But it is an old little house, built in the 50's, one car, 2 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen, dining room and living room. It is a cute little rock house. I just wish she would take a little more pride in it and keep it up better. Ok, enough of my rantings. We are home, the storms are moving in, the fence is fixed (for now, unless the next storm takes it out!) and life is good. I love my kids, I love my life, and I love blogging, I might need to "get a life" huh? sorry!
Fence Building
I am not going to take time to take pictures, so I will just talk to everyone when we get home. Hopefully MY dogs will be ok while we are gone. Oh, we returned the baby last night and she cried when her momma took her and she reached out for me and had that look in her eyes, thank good ness it was dark and no one else could see the wetness in my eyes. It does a grandma's heart good to know the apple of her eye loves her! Can't wait to see that boy next! gotta run...he is loading the truck. bye

Nice Little Surprises
Even more cute than that squirrel !!
And she was a pill today. Did not nap well at all.
But that's ok, she was in bed by 8:45 p.m.
I need to hit the sack now!
Just look at the detail, and you can see
love in every single stitch.
These tea towels are too pretty to use, but I do.
I am amazed by the talents of other people
and feel so blessed to have received these as a gift.
I "won" a pair of these towels from Memaw Bakes Memories
and I can say it is truly one of the nicest gift I have ever gotten
from someone that has never met me. They hang
proudly in my kitchen and I have received so many
compliments on them. I love telling the story of how
they were made by a very special person.
Isn't is amazing how people touch our lives
in so many ways.
I am blessed.
Thank you!
Flat Wallet
This is my flat wallet. That is a regular size Sharpie laying next to it. It measures about
4"x7".
It is pretty thin. As you can
tell by this pen next to it.
The pen is inside it and the wallet
shut. You don't see it bulging do you?
No, because it is not.
Open it and you have the DL opening
along with four credit card holders.
Behind that I have my pictures from
another wallet and misc junk too.
On the right side is a zipper for change and behind that is a spot for the paper money.
You can put your check book and pen in there too.
But not too many people carry check books, just debit cards.

Guess What Happened Today!
Well guess what happened today! It was a BEAUTIFUL day....for a little while. Then once again it was same song THIRD verse. Good grief. You know this is going to make the mosquitoes terrible this year. So West Niles will be bad and heart worms for the animals will be bad. Oh, I guess you have figured out that it rained again here today. We got almost two inches, it was about 1 3/4", but it came down hard and fast too. THEN on top of everything else we got hail, and I do mean hail. But we were the lucky ones, everyone around us had anywhere from marble to tennis ball size hail and it busted windows like crazy. We just had enough hail to make it look like snow, probably ruin our roof, and was loud and honestly kind of cool. But I like storms. I just don't like the damage it causes.
I know this is not that bad, I know lots of people have a lot more than this, or at least what this picture shows, but it was a pretty good storm. We had one wave come through that did the hail storm and then about 15 minutes later another big wave came through and dropped the rain on us. The tomatoes in the garden are just so water logged, they probably won't make it this year. At least the hail didn't wipe them out!!!! That's something to be thankful for!
It was still a good weekend. After the storm passed we went to town to meet my dad at Mazzio's Pizza for lunch. He was very hungry for pizza, it is his normal Sunday dinner (?) and my mom was not feeling well. So he left her and met us there. It was so nice. Then my mom's cousin came by and ate a bite with us and saw the baby. She just made over Allie (who wouldn't?) and it was so nice to visit with her. She was the maid of honor at my mom's wedding 50+ years ago, they have always been very close and I love her dearly. We are now planning a trip to Ft.Worth by train! So this has been a really nice weekend, the baby has been good, and we are truly blessed. Talk to you again soon.
