Jesus Loves Me This I Know

Do you remember this song? Do you ever go around and just hum it to your self or actually sing it out loud? "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so." What a precious little song that just brings peace to your soul when it is sung. Well this past week I got an email that just really touched my heart. I remember singing Jesus Love Me as a child, and even I sing it to my grandchildren. Thinking it is only a "child" song, this version or add on or other verse (don't know which is true) just really, I don't know , just touched me. I hope you enjoy it as I did. Have a wonderful day and week....because there is peace in knowing Jesus Loves You.

JESUS LOVES ME
Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow

Though my sight is growing dim,

Still He bids me trust in Him.

(CHORUS)

YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME..

YES, JESUS LOVES ME FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,

With my hand in His I'll go

On through life, let come what may,

He'll be there to lead the way.

(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,

In my heart He puts a song.

Telling me in words so clear,

'Have no fear, for I am near.'

(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,

And life's victories have been won.

He will take me home above,

Then I'll understand His love

(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?

Have I ever told Him so?

Jesus loves to hear me say,

That I love Him every day.

(CHORUS)

Not Been in the Posting Mood

Sorry about that!

I just have not been in the mood to blog. Nothing wrong, just haven't sat down to type on the ole computer. I have noticed everyone is getting into the Face Book scene and where I have been on Face book for a long time, I don't do any of the applications etc.

Has any one done this "Direct Buy" that I keep seeing on TV? You may not have it in your hometown, but we have one in Tulsa. I keep saying I am going to go and check it out just to see what it has to offer. I am sure you will have to buy a membership, but if it really saved me money on home products, it might be worth it! So Tonjia, since you buy all the "as seen on TV products" do you know anything about this?

We basically have my bathroom completed. I bought new doorknobs for all the doors in this house with new hinges. I am changing out all the gold colored stuff to silver. We did do bead board on the wall with chair rail, and then I added crown molding to the top (well where else does crown molding go but the top??? good grief!) We put up a new towel rack, hand towel hanger, toilet paper holder (free standing), white shelf, new shower curtain (went white after trying others) and yellow accents such as rugs, and towels. It looks nice in my opinion. In fact I really like it. I enlarged three of my prints from Florida and found some white frames at the DOLLAR TREE!!! (yes, they only cost me a dollar each!) Now I am going to order a LARGE print of my favorite picture. I am thinking a 16x20 picture to frame and hang up there too. The only other thing I need is a clock, and I will get white wall clock. That should just about do it.

Next project???? Our bedroom. We will remove the popcorn from the ceiling, paint an accent wall, and add crown molding in there as well. We will also replace the ceiling fan which I have already purchased. Oh I also replaced the pulls in the bathroom on all the drawers and then I did the same in the bedroom for the closet doors and they will match the ceiling fan. After I do all this remodel I will change out the flooring if I still have any money or can get some! (legally!)

I also wanted to show you a picture of my roses. Beth sent me some roses and they were so pretty. But they did not include any greenery. So I put them in the vase they sent and enjoyed them. Come Saturday, Scott had gotten me a dozen long stem roses with all kinds of greenery. So why not combine the two!? I did. I thought they were very pretty and I am STILL enjoying them a week later! Thank you Scott and Beth.

Then today I was walking past the back door and saw this creature sitting on the back fence.

I grabbed my little camera and snapped a couple shots. I noticed he (?) was sitting very close to my bird/squirrel/deer feeder. I think he was waiting on one of my corn fed overly fat squirrels to come feed. I opened the door to let the dogs outside and of course the hawk fly off, but to my surprise, there was another one as well. I think there must be a pair and they are nesting near by. Poor squirrels? Then I noticed there are tons of robins coming in to feed. So it must be getting close to spring if the robins are here. I also am feeding over 30 if not 40 dove. Scott and my dad just can not believe how many I have out there. Along with the other birds that I am feeding I just love having the "nature" all around. We are watching a couple deer, I think they are does and I think they are "with child". I bet they are the fawns from last year all grown up. Kind of sad to think last year they were these cute little babies and now.....well they are all grown up...knocked up deer. I put suet out on the bakers rack right out side my computer room window. So right now I look up and there is a huge male Cardinal eating there. I love this place! (just wish it was about 1000 sq feet larger huh Sarah?)

And this is a picture of my big ole fat robins. Aren't they pretty. I have quite a few of them and need to get some more seed out there to keep them coming!

Ok, I guess that is all for now. I got my taxes done and we had to pay in!!! DARN IT! But not too bad. Just cuts in to my remodeling projects. I had the grand kids for four days and loved it. Took the next week to recoup. (just kidding Sarah, any excuse to do nothing!) Had lunch with a good friend and fellow photographer, spent time with my parents and got caught up on my favorite tv shows.....Survivor and Private Practice (and the Cross Over!) PLUS I am hooked on HGTV especially Property Virgin. So now today....it is freezing out side (cold front came through) so I am thinking of putting a fire in the fireplace, and watching movies .....all day long.

Cooking at the Jobes'

Valentine Cookies!
I had to put Allie on the counter top and let her make cookies with us. Caleb was out in the garage most the time helping grandpa paint my bathroom door, but when he came in and saw us girls were cookin'.....well he just had to help.
Allie had to sample the cookie dough....all over her face!
Caleb just being his silly self.

yes, Allie had her feet on the counter tops, but at least her socks were clean!

And I am sorry this one "Cracks" me up...
Do you see her little butt crack there...
I did not plan that, but her little tush is so cute.
And here is a little video of her helping grandma cook.
Don't ask me what is up with my whiny voice ....oh my goodness
but anyway, here is Allie and she is cookin'
be sure to turn off my play list!
Tomorrow...??? We are going to Disney Playhouse to
be singing and dancing....so maybe more video then.

My Valentines Gift

I have been very blessed this Valentines Day. My daughter sent me a dozen multi colored roses. That sure was sweet. She sent them to me early and they are just now opening up so pretty. Then my husband got me a dozen long stem red roses for Valentines day, they smell sooo good. And my other daughter got me one of the nicest gifts of all......watch the video and you will see what I mean. I have the KIDS !!!! I bought some Squeaker Shoes while in Florida for Allie, this is a cute video of her and the dogs. Be sure to pause my playlist. Happy Valentines Day to all.

Friday Funnies

Today is Friday, so it is time to join Kim at Homesteaders Heart and laugh all day. I usually have a theme song for this day and posting, but for some odd reason I can not access my playlist. So we are going to listen to the seagulls and the ocean until I can figure it out!!!

(I get the grandkids today!!! Hurray, hip hip hurray!) I have been working SO hard at getting my taxes done, and remodeling the bathroom. Plus we have spent ALOT of time with my parents (thats a good thing!) so this week has been CRAZY. One of my busier ones. Plus trying to get things for Valentines Day, going out to eat with my cousin/her husband and Scott, I am telling you I fell like I am meeting myself coming and going. And I don't seem to have the same luck getting my husband motivated to do things.....that is a whole other story. But I got the bathroom nearly finished, I still need to frame another picture when I find the right frame, I got the new shower curtain and hung it, all the new things like towel rack, hooks, and hangers etc. It doesn't seem like that much, but it adds up. Last night we hung a new light in the hall, changed pull knobs on several drawers, closet doors, and cabinet doors. We bought new doorknobs and hinges for all the doors in the house and will start changing those things out as we paint and redo the rooms. This is a cute little house, but sure needs updating plus a new room added on the back. Since the room is not coming along I decided to start making little changes and hope that motivates to get the other stuff done. We will see. Next week??? Scrape the ceiling, texture, and paint the bedroom. After all the painting and ceiling scrapings I might do new carpet. AND it WON'T be a light color, I have three dogs you know!!!! So forgive me for not blogging much this week, I have been really busy, and forgive for not blogging this weekend, for I will spend ALL my time with MY valentine gift......my grandchildren. I have things planned with them too!

so in honor of all the work going on around here, I wanted to share a cute little funny!

A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO
paperwork and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful
hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic. He went to the
local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently,
and learned all he could.

When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared
carefully for weeks and completed the exam with tremendous skill.

When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a
score of 150%.

Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying, "I don't want too appear
ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error
in the grade."

The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly,
which was worth 50% of the total mark."

"You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50%
of the mark."

After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you
did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire
career."

We Are Fine!

A little Tornado doesn't scare me......much!
We are fine for all of you that have wondered about me here in Oklahoma. We are pretty used to tornadoes and after you have lived here for nearly half a century we have learned that they can come any time of year. I can remember having a tornado in down town Tulsa in December once! These tornadoes did hit Oklahoma City area, (Edmond) and that is very close to my daughter. I have to laugh, you know we just had this work done on her house and the electricians were to get their work done this week so it would have been just my luck for something to happen!!! I was at my parents house yesterday cleaning carpets for them and checking the horses (I still have two) and just spending some time with them. We had eaten at McDonald's (good grief) to support the Ronald McDonald's house by eating those $.49 cent hamburgers. But my mom brings onions, pickles and tomatoes in little Baggies to add to her burger. I get tickled at her, she says I got embarrassed, I don't think so, but I do think it is funny. We did eat there and then went home to "work" and visit. We knew the weather was to get bad in the late afternoon and I had already been saying we needed to be going. When my cell phone rang and after answering it my daughter said, "Mom I just wanted to tell you I love you." I laughed at her and then I could hear in her voice she was very concerned. She said the storm was right on top of her and she did not know if she could get back to work for safety. She could see it, the clouds the lowering, all the signs that a tornado is just right there. (I think we should have tornado spotting classes in high school....seriously!) So she just wanted me to know if something happened, that she did love me. Well that made me feel good AND bad. She was to call me after she got back to work and was safe. She did. But then she called and said she didn't know about her house. The storm was now in the Edmond area and she lives kind of right there on the line of south Edmond and North OKC. So she ran home after work of course and found everything was fine. In fact a friend had gone over and put her dogs in the house to keep them safe and dry. So she is fine.
The other family is in Stillwater and they did not get hit by a tornado, but like all of us, we did have some heavy rains, high winds and some scary times. Sarah said they had to get in the closet once because the storm sirens were going off and she had gone to school to get Caleb just a little early. Thank goodness she did. She did not need to be out driving in that storm and with little Allie too. So after a scary afternoon, they too were ok.
We didn't get much of anything till much later. We finally got some MUCH NEEDED rain, some high winds for a little while, but really we lucked out. But I can't say the same for many people in southern Oklahoma. It seems there were quite a few lives lost and many injuries. Don't know why, or what happened. I heard it was a trailer park and of course those are the worst when it comes to major storms like this. Those poor people. We have heard different accounts far as the numbers goes but it doesn't matter, one life lost is way too many. So keep those families in your thoughts and prayers, and don't worry about me, I am FINE. But thanks for asking!
***By the way, I can't get my playlist to let me log in, so we are stuck listening to the surf until I can figure out what to do. Sorry. But it really is kind of a nice thing to listen to.

Friday Funnies

We all need a good laugh here and again. So every Friday Kim at Homesteader Heart has a day full of funnies. If you want more than what I can provide go check her out and see what every one is laughing about today with her!

The Black Bra
The other day I had lunch with 2 of my unmarried friends. One is engaged, one is a mistress, and of course I have been married for 20+ years. We were chatting about our relationships and decided to amaze our men by wearing a black leather bra & bodice, stiletto heels and a mask over just our eyes. We agreed to meet in a few days to exchange notes.

Here's how it all went:

My engaged friend: The other night my boyfriend came over and found me wearing a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask. He saw me and said, 'You are the woman of my dreams. I love you.' Then we made love all night long.

The mistress: Me too! The other night I met my lover at his office and I was wearing the leather bodice, heels and mask over my eyes and a raincoat. When I opened the raincoat he didn't say a word, but we had wild sex all night.

Then I had to share my story: When my husband came home I was wearing the leather bodice, black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes. As soon as he came in the door and saw me he said... "What's for dinner, Batman?"

And would you like one more because I am full of them???

I am in the middle of painting my bathroom and trying to get some things done around my house. When I read this joke it made me think of me!!! Except I am NOT blonde, but it is still funny.

THE BLONDE PAINTER
This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all these blonde jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid. So, she decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart.

While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house. The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the distinctive smell of paint.

He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a heavy parka and a leather jacket at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she is okay. She replies yes. He asks what she is doing and she replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb, and she wanted to do it, by painting the house. He then asks her why she has a parka over her leather jacket. She replied that she was reading the directions on the paint can and it said..

'FOR BEST RESULTS, PUT ON TWO COATS'

ps,ok maybe I AM blonde, for my spell check says there is no "e" on the end of the blond (E). I thought there was so I am leaving it.....is the computer right???? or am I just a really poor speller?

Changes Are Coming

Not A Political Promise Either!

A few years ago Scott and I bought a house in the Oklahoma City area as an investment and so my daughter could live there while going to college. She is still in college....but that is another story.
We bought this cute little house and the people we were buying it from had all these big plans to fix it. Part of the contract...but that too is another story!
We were leaving on an Alaskan cruise and closed on the house before it was finished. We even agreed to let the people live in it for an extra two weeks at NO CHARGE while they finished the remodel. My daughter took possession of the home and the realtor did the walk through accepting things as ok. When we got back home and drove down to see the house I nearly puked! They did not do what they said they would do, and what they did do was HORRIBLE! Yes, I know that I might be a little partial since my husband is ....IS a Carpenter and a really good one. But these people lied, screwed us over big time and I was furious. But I am not one to sue people, I am not one to try and get revenge. But I will tell you every time I go there and see that kitchen, the floor and the cabinets I just get so mad. It ruins my visit with my daughter. I call it the Albatross around my neck. And one thing after another goes wrong, oh I just hope bad karma follows these people for what they did. The tile in the kitchen is so bad they have about an inch between the tiles and the tiles and the threshold has (I am not kidding!) 2 inches of grout. It is just pathetic. A blind man could have done a better job than what these people did to us. The kitchen cabinets are nearly 2 feet from the counter tops. Beth can only reach the bottom shelf in her kitchen. Oh I could go on and on but let me tell you what is going on now.

I decided to have the kitchen re tiled. Beth said she has a friend that would do it probably for nothing and he used to have a tile business before his divorce. I told her to ask him about it, he said he would do it , blah blah blah. I told him I would pay him to tile the kitchen and the bathroom. He said ok, 200 dollars. I jumped right on it. Another friend helped her to pick out the tile, used his discounts from his business and got all the materials they would need. Well it has been three days and this poor man is still trying to get all the tiles up. It has tiles laid upon tiles, upon tiles. I think they said there is either three or four layers of different types of tile plus wood flooring. No wonder there is such a huge difference between the dining room and the kitchen floors. Now we think there is mold on the flooring in the kitchen and that might explain why Beth gets sick all the time. Good grief. Scott is going tomorrow to check it out and see what needs to be done before they start re tiling the floor.

Well you know how one thing leads to ten others??? I decided that since Beth works for an Electrician that maybe they could check her house out and see if things are safe and what it would cost to bring it up to a little better standard. Ever since the big ice storm a year ago her house has not been right. I fear her house will catch fire and she will die in the night. Not a pleasant thing to worry about all the time. And I really do worry about it. Sure enough. Her boss man /owner came over today and told Beth it is a miracle her electricity even works. He said it was not safe at all. (and yes, this house passed inspection when we bought it!!!????) So now he is going to fix it and bring it up to standards and make it safe for her. He is giving us a very good deal, we could never have gotten it done for the price he told Beth so I feel we need to take full advantage of it. Hope that doesn't sound bad, but I am really very appreciative that he is willing to do this. Beth also has a friend that does granite counter tops. So she has talked to him to see if he has any scraps that might work in her kitchen and he said he would look into it.

Next I want to tear all the yellow tile off the bathroom and put bead board up chair rail high. Then she can paint the rest and have Jeff put new tile around the tub. I would like to do the glass blocks to replace the window since it is in the shower and guess what the window sill is made of???? Yes, you got it, wood! good grief! We need to take all the walls down to the studs and put new sheet rock up in the bathroom. I am hoping we can get this stuff done at a very reasonable price and it will increase the value of that little home. It is a really cute house, and if we can do these upgrades it should add value. Then we could have it reappraised and see if we are to the point of where we can drop the PMI (is that right? Principal Mortgage Insurance?). That would save an extra $35.00 a month. My luck, we will start on the bathroom and find out there is a rotten plumbing or something huh? But these things need to get done and then if we HAD to, we could sell the place and hopefully make our money back on it. They say bathrooms and kitchens are the places to get a full refund on your investment. So keep your fingers crossed....then this spring I need a landscaper. Have any ideas?

Florida Pictures II

Look who came by for a visit.....

And these people too.
They came by to see what they could catch for dinner...

They just drove their boat on the beach, don't know why.
I didn't ask them. But I do know they didn't catch anything.
Take out any one?
This also shows the boardwalk outside the building of the condo.

I just never tired of this view.
I was on the balcony taking these pictures.

People would walk their dogs, ride bikes, or jog.
I just thought this would be such a neat place to live.

The grader comes along to fix the "road" on the beach.
He just pushes the sand back into the ocean line.

Then after he made a few passes, graded it just
like he wanted it, he moved on to the next "beach entrance".

Of course what is a beach with out a sea gull?

And sometimes big nice boats would fly by.

Again, just a cloudy sunset with a view.

Scott was collecting sea shells by the sea shore in the sand.

I LOVE this picture.
When it is blown up larger it is just really cool looking.

Aunt Peggy was "testing" the water.
she could move pretty quickly when it threatened to
cover her shoes with that nice cold water!
Even with hip replacement surgery she is pretty quick on her feet!
Then Uncle Jerry was taking a picture of me so
I took a picture of him taking a picture of me...
He stuck his tongue out at me!

And I got tons of pictures of this guy surfing.
Why? I don't know, just because he was there.

The rabbits there are weird. No long ears and no
cotton ball for a tail. But they were still very cute.
Wonder what they would think of their Oklahoma cousins?
And these things were huge!!! They must be Texas turtles
misplaced. Because they say everything is bigger in Texas.
These guys are giant!
Scott and Uncle Jerry thought it was a guy and a girl "courting".
The guy out of the hole would bob his head quite a bit.
There was definitely a lot being said.
The ranger told us later that it is two males and they
weren't courting....they were arguing over the residence.
I don't know what you call this thing. It is a large parachute type
thing pulling a guy on a skateboard looking thing.
And boy did it pull him right now the beach.
FAST.
This day was very foggy as the sun tried to greet us.
This picture was taken during high tide and I loved capturing
how close to the "road" it came. I just enjoyed seeing
all the different stages, and temperaments.
This picture is of the beach further south of St. Augustine.
We went out sight seeing (and eating!!!) and this is
one of the beaches. Oh I just can't get enough. Look how blue!
Just look at how BEAUTIFUL.....
