National Championship

Sooner Boomers/Boomer Sooners! (ok Cara?)
Now back in the day, my dad always told me...good friends don't ever discuss politics and religion. But I never heard him say they don't discuss football. Knowing that I have friends all over this great land, and even some from Texas, I have to tell you that on Thursday night I will be cheering for my OU Sooners team. I have some great fears, we have our star player DeMarcus Murray(sp?) out. dag gum it, why now??? The Sooners have had a really good year, and of course I want to see them win. I hate how the sportscasters always disrespect the Big 12 and often times OU. But there are probably other teams that feel the same way. I do feel they are a really good team, but I hear that Florida is as well. Knowing that I have a few blogger friends in Florida it makes me sad to think that I have to cheer against their team.
Now I hope that none of you will be offended if I say ---Please do not call me during the game....I won't answer. Please don't expect me to be on the computer, instant messenger, I won't be there, please don't expect a blog posting from me, because it isn't going to happen. I guess I am saying, Thursday (I am writing this Wed. night!) after about 7:00 p.m. LEAVE ME ALONE--- IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
And IF WE LOSE....you might want to leave me alone for a few days, I am not a good loser, and if we win....you might want to stay away too for I am not a real gracious winner either. Not when it comes to my OU Sooners. I do not watch sports, I don't hunt, I don't chew or run with those that do. But when it comes to my OU Sooners, I live for the season, I schedule my events around the games and after tomorrow, I will start counting down the months, weeks and days, till next season this coming fall.
GO SOONERS!!!

You crack me up! And I'll have you know, as long as OU isn't playing a Texas team or Nebraska, we cheer for them. With the exception of A&M--I cheer for anybody to beat the Aggies.

Just one question--

Sooner Boomers? Is that a new nickname I haven't heard of?

love you! Have fun tomorrow night! I'm going to set my alarm to call you every five minutes during the game. ; )

Lisa, I am AT Work. In fact a co-worker took the photo for me. I tried taking in the mirror this morning but it read "SRENOOS and I thought that would not work. Here is the history of the Sooner Fight Song.

In 1905, Arthur M. Alden, a student in history and physiology whose father was a Norman jeweler, wrote the lyrics to the fight song, borrowing the tune from Yale University's 'Boola Boola' but improvising the words. A year later, an addition was made to it from North Carolina's 'I'm a Tarheel Born' and the two combined to form the university's fight song today. One of the most recognizable college fight songs in the country, 'Boomer Sooner' immediately evokes enthusiasm from OU fans and sends chills down the spines of those who dare to oppose them.

BOOMER SOONER!!!!!! this is the year that Florida will go DOWN.....

did you know the Broncos tried to steal the Sooners' coach? We would LOVE to have him but he graciously declined the offer.

Enjoy the game.
